Memories dye inks, also known as gourd ink dyes or ink dyes, are manufactured in the USA by Stewart Superior. They are the best selling dye ink on the market. Jo Sonja Background Colors6 oz. Bottles Don't let the name mislead you, background colors are NOT just for backgrounds. They are wonderful artist quality acrylic paints that provide an opaque one coat coverage. Jo Sonja’s Background colors are specially formulated for easy one coat painting and are intended for all decorative and fine art applications. Use straight from the jar or combine with other Jo Sonja's colors for dramatic effects. Made from the finest artists’ quality pigments, all Jo Sonja's Background Colors are independently tested to ensure your that your colors will not fade over time. I mix them with Jo Sonja Polyurethane varnish to color the inside of the gourds in one step. • Use alone or in conjunction with all other water-based products. • Use in conjunction with other Jo Sonja’s Mediums for various techniques and special effects. • Suitable for most surfaces including wood, paper, cards, illustration board, canvas, glass, gourds and terracotta. Directions: • For one step basecoat, mix and apply paint and All Purpose Sealer beginning with approximate proportions of 2 parts paint to 1 part All Purpose Sealer. Amount of All Purpose Sealer may be increased up to a ratio of 1:1. Basecoat may be applied with a brush, roller or sponge. Sand when dry and apply a second coat as needed without the addition of sealer. • To thin, add small amounts of Flow Medium until desired consistency is reached. Thinning with water may decrease the adhesion of the paint to the surface. • Jo Sonja’s Background Colors may be applied using an airbrush by thinning with Flow Medium approximately 1:1. All Purpose Sealer may be added for increased adhesion beginning with a ratio of 2 parts paint to 1 part All Purpose Sealer. Thin as needed using small amounts of distilled water to adjust consistency.
