Buying the Right Burner and Pens
Buying a woodburner can be overwhelming. There are so many brands on the market, so many options, warranties, etc. I want to make your buying experience pleasurable and I want to be sure that you have the right burner and tools for your needs and budget.
I strongly suggest you read the Razertip tutorial and read the FAQ's. Most commonly asked questions you will be thinking about have already been answered right there.

Pen Substitution in the Razertip Burners
All of my Razertip burners come packed with the HD5MP Fixed-Tip pen. I would be happy to exchange the pen for something else but you must contact me before ordering.
NOTE: If you want to switch it out for a like style pen (i.e.: another HD fixed-tip pen) you can just order online but please email me to alert me to what you want substituted so I do not miss any notes you add to your order. Also be sure to add a note in the comments section when you place the order.
If you wish to change out the pen to a standard fixed-tip pen, please contact me directly and include your exact order. I will do a manual invoice for the burner with your pen substitution. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!
The Pioneer of the Woodburning/Pyrography Starter Kits
As the creator of the original "Pyrography Starter Kits" back in 2000 when I started selling burners I never looked at myself as a trend setter but that is exactly what happened because over the last few years others have followed my lead.
It all started when I first started burning in 1999 I was totally confused as to what I need so I relied on the expertise of a woodcarving vendor to recommend...BIG mistake!
When I started selling pyrography tools I realized I needed to do something to help my customers get what they need without becoming overwhelmed or pushed into buying things they don't need. By 2003 my kits had evolved several times as I realized there were too many choices and people were confused so I separated the burners from the kits and refined the kits even more. My kits were the only ones that were complete with everything to get started (again, a trend setter), not just with tips but my kits included wood, graphite paper, cleaning tools and when my first book, "Pyrography 101" was published in 2003, the book was included in all the kits.
In 2007 I got very involved in gourd art and doing gourd festivals so I created some gourd kit options and over the next few years refined those several times.
What I noticed over the last few years is that even Razertip decided kits were a good idea and new dealers are now jumping on the band wagon. I guess my idea was a good one, not just for my customers but for my competition.
My goal has always been to simplify your life and make shopping in my store easier and every change to my website has been done with that in mind....especially the process of buying pyrography tools because I've been in your shoes and I know how difficult it is to buy just the right pyrography tool.

Handpiece Cords
The Razertip SK burners I sell are packaged with the 16 gauge heavy duty cords (red plugs). The HD cords are able to draw more amps and have been made even more flexible than before. With over ten times the stranding of any other pen cord on the market, the newest HD cords are 16 gauge are so flexible and kink free, you'll never be satisfied with anything else. Our dual output burners (SS-D10) now come with one HD cord and one detail cord.
Power Control Unit
Raze tip's 10 amp output Electronic power unit gives precision temperature control, with a very wide range of heat with one of the fastest tip-heat recovery in the industry. It is especially good at holding steady temperatures at the cooler settings, where some other burners go from too cold to "too hot", with no control in between. The ultra stable control circuitry maintains consistent burns even when turned on-and-off-and-on again. The power unit is the only safety certified hot-wire Pyrographic tool on the market. Of all the burners I have tried and worked with in our classes, this burner has, by far the most stable heat control that does not fluctuate.
Razertip's Unconditional Warranty
Unlike any other woodburner Razertip offers this warranty: If any Razertip product fails to operate properly for any reason during its warranty period, Razertip Industries, Inc. will, at Razertip's discretion, repair or replace the product at no cost to the consumer, provided the product is returned prepaid to Razertip Industries Inc. Shop and compare! Yes, there are dealers who might offer deeper discounts but do they specialize in wood burning tools? The answer to that is no. Can they offer you the expert advise of a professional woodburner? The answer again is no. Can they get your unit shipped to you in 5 working days or less....probably not! Not only do I provide you with the best service from an expert in the field, but I also offer you very competitive prices!
So, while you might save a few dollars from another dealer, will you get the expert advise from a professional woodburner....NO! I am a woodburner and have experience with every brand of pyrography system on the market so I can make honest recommendations based on my personal experience over the last thirteen years. I also have the philosophy that less is better. Unlike many dealers I'm not in this business to sell you a bunch of pens and accessories you don't need. Using Razertip Pens and Burners with Other BrandsI have cords for just about any burner or pen combination. Using a replacement cord is the best method to adapt a Razertip pen to any other brand of power unit or another brand of pen to the Razertip power unit. Be sure to check the connection of your burner's cord before ordering a cord to ensure you are ordering the correct cord. I highly recommend using a replacement cord rather than an adaptor. Pyrography Pen Holder
I had been asking Alan to make me a pen holder to organize my wood burning pens for quite some time. Together we tested out several designs until we came up with just the right design that was efficient, didn't take up much space and easy to see the pens! The holder accommodates up to 10 pens in their plastic storage tube. They are hand made by Alan out of solid wood (maple, birch and cherry) and sealed with a protective finish.
